A Transformed Portal

I finished my hutch window/door to picture frame makeover!  I’m so excited about how it came out.

I spent an hour this weekend cleaning off the rest of the gunk that was left over from my crazy spray painting prep from this post.  That was the least fun part of the project.  After cleaning came the most fun part of the project, picking out the pictures. It was a nice walk down memory lane. I decided to go with only pictures that had both of the kids in them.  It was really sweet to see how in almost all of them, my daughter is literally clutching my son.  And he totally doesn’t mind.  They are really close and sweet to each other, like, 76% of the time.  Which I think is a pretty good average.

I’m really happy with the finished product.  I wasn’t thrilled with the spray paint finish, but once the pictures went in, (and I just used invisible Scotch tape and taped them right to the glass) I fell in love.  It is my new favorite thing I have ever made.  The best part of it is that I finally have some framed candid pictures hanging in the house, not just their school pics.  It’s definitely inspiring me to do some type of a gallery wall in another room.  I’ll be on the hunt for some inspiration for that!
