The End of the Shopping Hiatus

I had a fit of spending on clothes in the spring and promised I would take it easy for a while.  And I did.  Until this week.  I DID  need some summer staples and I did get some great deals again, so I’m happy with my purchases.  And I’m done for now.  Except Banana Republic Outlet is 50% off everything and I have an additional 20% off $100 coupon.  It would be a sin to pass that up.  (I just channeled my mother right there with that sentence).  Anyhoo, I really love some of the things I got, so I thought it would be fun to share.

My first virtual stop was Old Navy.  They are having an up to 50% off everything sale.  Don’t mind if I do!

Womens Linen-Blend Shirts

I got this yellow linen button down, but I haven’t decided if I’m going to keep it yet.  The color is super bright, in a good way, but it is a little too big for me and the linen is a little scratchy.  I’m wondering if I wash it and dry it if it will help?  It might be a good experiment to try.  Or, maybe I’ll ask someone at the store if it will get softer when I wash it, because I will be going back to return this:

Womens Embellished Crew-Neck Tees

Looks like your run of the mill white tee, right?  It really just doesn’t fit me well and it has little embellishments on it that make it look a hint old ladyish.  It’s going back.  It is only $4.99, though.  It might be better on a taller person, too.  (I’m 5’2).

Womens Boatneck Fitted Tops

This shirt is adorable.  It has a nice structure to it, but it’s very comfortable.  It has a cute exposed zipper on the back and the shoulders have just a tiny bit of rouching on them that give it an extra dash of femininity.  It was $12.00.
Womens Scoopneck Tees

This is a great t-shirt.  It’s light, comfy, not too low cut.  Everything you want in a summer tee.  And, it’s $6!

Womens Tulip-Hem Maxi Dresses

It’s taken me forever to get on the maxi dress bandwagon, mostly because I am short and a lot of stores aren’t carrying petites in stores.  I took the plunge with this tulip hem dress and I am so beyond thrilled with it!  It is a petite and the length is perfect on me.  I think the tulip hem is a good option for short ladies because you don’t look completely swathed in fabric.  And the straps are adjustable so you can be as covered as you choose.  This was $29, a splurge for me, but totally worth it because I plan on wearing it ALL. THE. TIME.

Womens Twill Pencil Skirts

This skirt hasn’t arrived yet, but I can’t wait to get my hands on it.  I think it will be adorable with a chambray button down.  This is $29 dollars now, but I got it for $22 the day I bought it.

Next stop was The Loft.  This week they had a 50% off everything in store.  I only grabbed one item, but it was so worth the trip to the store on my lunch break:

Mitered Stripe Maxi Skirt | Loft maxi skirts don't usually fit me, but this petite version is the perfect length.Ok, I don’t want to dis the model, but she’s not showing how flattering this skirt is.  I got it in a petite and it’s just a bit above the tops of my feet, but the best part is that it is not super flowy and billowing.  It hugs you in a very flattering way.   It was $35 with the 50%, so another splurge, but worth every penny.  Consider me firmly atop the maxi length bandwagon.  Two years late.

How’s your summer wardrobe shaping up?
