I completed the last week of the Bone Broth Diet and this is my final update. When I say I “completed” week three of the Diet, I mean that 3 weeks have passed since I started the diet and so therefore I completed the diet. I cheated a lot, though. Even with the cheating, I still lost a total of 9 lbs! I’m happy about that, but I regret that I couldn’t commit to the last two weeks as much as I did to the first week.
Overall, I found the diet to be too restrictive for me. Not having anything sweet to eat at all besides fruit is not a way to live, in my opinion. However, I can commit to finding healthy sweet treats and committing to the 80/20 maintenance rule that Dr. Kelly Ann prescribes for maintenance. The 80/20 rule is eating healthy/clean foods 80 percent of the time and then splurging 20% of the time.
One thing I will definitely NOT be adding back into my life is gluten. The first week, when I didn’t cheat at all, I felt great. All of my aches and pains were gone. I snuck a few Wheat Thins in those 2nd two weeks and the aches are back. With a vengeance.
I do also want to start to add in a little exercise, too. I’m hoping that exercise mixed with the 80/20 rule will mean that I will continue to drop some weight.
To appease my sweet tooth, I made these delicious Banana Chocolate Chip muffins. I found the recipe at Well Plated and I highly recommend spending an hour or two over there! The recipes are delicious, healthy and easy! It’s the trifecta!
