I’ve found myself with a stunning lack of cute clothes for the summer. In the summer, outside of work, I like to wear stuff that is easy and comfortable, but still cute. I plundered Pinterest for some inspiration. I present you with my top ten finds.
A plain white t-shirt is a staple. I love it with the burst of tangerine. I like my shorts a smidge longer than those, but overall, this outfit looks easy peasy lemon squeezy. And cute.
Navy and coral is a stunning combo. And I’ll never turn down a striped shirt. Up for debate: Is 39 too old for coral shorts??
Oh, I would wear the crap out of that white shirt. It’s so chic and flattering, but still laid back. It’s all like, “Hey, I’m your white t-shirts older cousin. I still go with everything, but I’ll make you look a bit refined. No one has to know I’m just easy to throw on as your tattered t-shirt”.
This dress is outstanding. The proportions looks so right with that thick waist band and the v-neck that will be flirtatious, but not letting it all hang out. Another debate: “Is 5’2″ too short for a maxi dress?”.
White jeans are a classic summer pick. More orange/tangerine here, which I love. I’m also planning on taking my chambray button down with me everywhere I go because I have a fear of being stuck in a freezing, air conditioned mall or movie theatre with nothing to throw over myself.
A denim skirt is great any time of year, but especially summer. It’s an upgrade from your shorts if you want to look a bit more polished with 0% more work put into getting dressed. This outfit also looks patriotic to me, so it would be great for the 4th of July.
I’m obsessed with this dress. I just know it would look great on any figure (again with the high and wide waist), the print is G.O.R.G.E and it looks light and airy for a super hot day. Also, I have a secret to share with you about dresses. In the summer, there is nothing in your closet that is easier to put on than a dress. You will be cooler than you would be in any other outfit choice, you will look totally pulled together and it literally takes like a second to pull one over your head. Instant cute outfit without even thinking about it.
Again, slightly obsessed with this dress. I’m concerned about the V neck on my little frame, but if this fit me right, I would potentially wear it every other day (only every other because I would be wearing the dress above it on the off days). And you could change this up with different accessories so easily. A scarf one day, a statement necklace the next, floppy hat for a day in the sun, change up the belt for a punch of color… The possibilities are endless.
That’s my dream closet for the summer. What do you plan on wearing this summer?
