You know those gorgeous dried flowers you’ve been pressing between heavy books all summer?
No? Me either. But don’t worry, you can skip that for this craft!
We’re going to make some pressed flower art on Canvas.
I’ve been totally obsessed with creating these mini masterpieces lately, and they’re such a peaceful way to spend an afternoon.
If you’ve never tried pressed flower art before, don’t worry – this project is actually super relaxing and forgiving. There’s something almost meditative about arranging those delicate petals and leaves until they feel just right.

Pressed Flower Art on Canvas Materials

There’s not a lot to this one! Very few materials for such a big impact:
- Small Canvases
- Elmer’s Clear Glue
- Pressed Flowers
- Q-tips (or a small paint brush)
Step 1: Add glue to the canvas

Add a good amount of glue all over the canvas.
You can’t mess this up. The glue dries completely clear and flat, so don’t worry about adding too much.
I covered the entire canvas even though I thought I probably wouldn’t cover the entire canvas in flowers.
Step 2: Spread the glue

I liked using a Q-tip for this, but you could definitely use a small paint brush here, too.
Just spreading the glue from top to bottom, corner to corner.
Again, don’t worry about a perfectly even coating here. The glue will dry clear and even. You won’t have noticeable bumps or lumps in the end.
Step 3: Lay down your leaves & flowers

The canvases that I ended up liking the best were the ones that I started with greenery or leaves first.
You don’t have to. You could just go with the flowers first and add the greens later. Totally up to you, but this is what I liked.
This is the part of the craft where you become an artist. Lay down the flowers where you think you’ll like them.
I use a little tiny bit of glue on the end of the Q-tip to pick up each flower and then place them on the canvas.
If you don’t like where you put them, you can move them with the Q-tip before the glue dries.
Finishing Touches: Your Pressed Flower Canvas Art is Complete!

And just like that, you’ve created something truly special!
These mini botanical canvases make perfect gifts or gorgeous additions to your own gallery wall.
Don’t get too caught up in making them perfect – the beauty is in how each piece turns out uniquely yours.
