I’ve been hosting Thanksgiving for many years. The one thing I always forget about is that for kids, it’s not really the most exciting holiday. That’s where the kids thanksgiving crafts come in. This year for Thanksgiving I’m going to have one teenager, a 10 year old, a five year old and a 3 year …
ALERT!!! This is your first warning. At the time of the writing of this post we are 65 days out from Christmas. Nothing is worse than last minute Christmas shopping. Does anyone else get into a state of paralysis when they get overwhelmed? When a project seems to big, my first reaction is to go into turtle mode and hide inside my shell where I can pretend it doesn’t exist. I find the best way to combat turtle mode is to get a plan together. …

I noticed this week that now that my kids are back in school, I’m skipping meals, especially lunch, and grazing all day instead. Unfortunately, the food I’m grazing on is never good for me. It’s potato chips, packaged cookies, and other not good foods. I’m going to try to plan ahead and throw a few …
What surprised me most when I first started furnishing my home was the price of lamps. I’d walk into a Home Goods and see $80+ price tags and be floored. For a long time I would only buy my lamps from thrift stores or yard sales. Which is super affordable, but you usually have to …
